My name is Elena and I was born and raised in Madrid. When I finished my studies I went travelling around the Globe and lived in London, Edinburgh and Paris before moving to The Hague in 2009.
I’ve always liked to write, my first memories are of me seated and completely concentrated, with a notebook and a pen, inventing characters to whom incredible things happened.
Since I was a little girl I won every year my school’s storytelling competition and at the age of 13 I won the third prize in a competition in my city.
Later, in my teenage years, I became quite insecure and didn’t show anyone the folios and folios I wrote about my life and about other people’s lives.
At the age of 29 I moved to Paris and there I started my second novel (the first one I wrote it when I was 13) and I decided that this time I would publish it.
10 years later I managed to finish it and I’m about to publish it.
During all these years I have also written dozens of short stories that one day I want to compile in a book.
I’m also planning to write a children’s book dedicated to my nephew and my niece, Pol and Georgina.
Writing is my passion, I love books and for me inventing stories is the best thing in the world.
I want to transmit my passion to children who want to nourish their imagination with characters and places created by their minds. I want them to enjoy books as much as I did and to be able to develop all their creativity so that they can achieve anything they want.
I firmly believe that creativity is one of a person’s most valuable attributes and it has to nurtured so it won’t die.
Hugs,
Elena de Francisco
